Development Characteristics

The College of Engineering was established to provide assistance to those traditional industries located in Southern Taiwan to achieve successful transformation and upgrade. We also engage in nurturing talents to sustain Taiwan's R&D and in addressing the sustainable urbanization challenges. In recent years, Tainan Science Park, Luzhu Science Park, and Biotechnology Park have been established successively in Southern Taiwan. Meanwhile, various industries in the Nanzi Processing Zone near NUK have been actively undergoing industrial transformation. Thus, to help Southern Taiwan move forward in the new era, our College of Engineering is going to take on the task: be a talent base nurturing excellent engineering talents. We take advantage of our priority in National Development Plan, actively integrate our faculty and manpower to form a research team exerting its overall strength to win research funds as well as improve the quality and quantity of research results. We also strive to improve education quality in order to prepare students to gain an edge in their further studies or future careers. Since NUK is located in the joint of Southern Taiwan Industrial Park and Science Park, the College of Engineering has excellent conditions and opportunities to collaborate with industry intensively. We expect ourselves to be a college excellence featuring in cutting-edge theory and practice. 

國立高雄大學工學院於2003年5月成立，設有電機工程學系、土木與環境工程學系及 都市發展與建築研究所，歷經十年多的成長與茁壯，目前朝向各工程跨領域方向發展，共四個學系，包括：電機工程學系、土木與環境工程學系、化學工程及材料工程學系與資訊工程學系。目前本院4個學系皆設有碩士班，電機工程學系、化學工程及材料工程學系及資訊工程學系皆設有碩士在職專班，在100年度電機工程學系設立博士班。

To look forward to a promising future, we strive to:

(1) gain more research projects and support to increase our research productivity and capacity

(2) improve the collaboration among departments and enhance our interdisciplinary research skills

(3) support Academia-Industry research and link mass production and industrial applications.
